What Kind of World Are We Sending Our Children Into?

September 19, 2001

We are sending our children into a world filled with hundreds of millions of courageous and compassionate people.

We are sending them into a world in which people are at their finest when things are their worst.

We are sending them into a world in which people are so moved by the tragedies of strangers that they rush to offer what aid and succor they can.

We are sending them into a world in which billions of people weep for the death of people that they never knew, and mourn for the families of those who died.

We are sending them into a world filled with people whose spirit and passion for life can not be subdued, regardless of the cost.

We are sending them into a world filled with people who are filled with so much love that they are willing to die to save the lives of invisible strangers.

If this were a battle between evil intentions and good will, I'd have to say that good will won out...dramatically so.
